Accommodations for Students with Special Needs
The Guided Notes are intended to provide a foundation that EL’s and students with special needs can use to build their notes on. The extra scaffolding allows students to focus more on the content and worry less about writing down every word. It helps English Learners focus on more on content and allows striving readers to focus on the important points.
The integrated vocabulary terms also helps EL’s and striving readers by explaining tough words and making the lesson more comprehensible. Depending on their needs, students who have special needs can use either of these modifications to their advantage.
